Amish Market & A Country Waterfall

Trade the city for some country air. We'll meet at C3 Coffeehouse for a pre-market treat, then convoy about 20 minutes to Highland Market, the best Amish market around. Heads up: they run without electricity, so bring cash — and more than you think you'll need. Most people don't bring enough.

From there we'll head to Winding Stairs Park, a well-kept secret with a waterfall and gorge worth exploring. The hike is short at 1.5 miles, but it's rugged, so boots are ideal. We'll be playing in the water too, so toss an extra pair of socks in your bag.

This one's a proper day trip — expect an hour to an hour and a half of driving north of Nashville. Roll the windows down, yell "cow," and breathe deep.
